During the COVID-19 pandemic, I created Coffee Napper as a class project — but pandemic restrictions forced me to rethink everything. Limited to a single actor and locked out of school facilities, I adapted what was originally an action story into a short commercial format.
Without access to the Canon C100 I had planned to use, I shot the entire piece on my personal Canon Rebel T2i. That constraint pushed me to find creative lighting solutions rather than relying on professional equipment — a skill that ended up being genuinely useful on later productions.
My sister, who had no acting experience, stepped in as the talent. Guiding her through the process was its own challenge and rewarding in a different way than working with experienced actors. The concept was inspired by nostalgic "Leggo My Eggo" commercials from my childhood.
