The Haunting of the Art Department was a short film produced as a class project at Evangel University. I served as Director of Photography, Editor, Set Designer, and Lighting Director — my first time taking on the DP role in a scripted production setting.
The shoot was intentionally styled after a Scooby-Doo aesthetic, which made the visual and lighting decisions genuinely fun to work through. The crew was stretched thin — several of us were simultaneously working on two other film projects during production. Schedule coordination and keeping everyone on set despite fatigue was its own challenge.
We hit audio equipment failures mid-production and had to source replacement gear through connections to keep shooting. We finished on time.
